The film by Giorgos Lanthimos is nominated in the most important categories, such as "Best Film", "Direction", "Best Actress", "Editing" and "Adapted Screenplay".
"Poor Things" by Giorgos Lanthimos has a total of 11 Oscar nominations in categories such as "Best Film", "Direction", "Best Actress" (Emma Stone), "Adapted Screenplay" and "Editing" (which George Mavropsaridis did).
Even more nominations, however, were collected by the film "Oppenheimer" by Christopher Nolan, which claims the golden statuette in 13 categories.
Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" received 10 nominations, while Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" received eight.
This is the second time that a film by Giorgos Lanthimos has been nominated for an Oscar for best director. In 2019, G. Lanthimos again claimed the directing Oscar, with his film "The Favored One". Second is the nomination of Giorgos Mavropsaridis in the "Editing" category.
